Black Horse Run (S.C.)

Developed in 1973, Bill Allen created a unique community nestled in the Northern part of Lancaster County, South Carolina. Black Horse Run is an equestrian community which borders Lancaster, Union, Mecklenburg and York Counties and is home to both horse lovers and owners.  The geographical location of Black Horse Run offers families a genuine feeling of countryside living without surrendering suburban conveniences.

Imagine a wonderful Equestrian community where you can live!  Well, look no more.  This wonderful Indian Land Coummunity is located just minutes from shopping, dining, medical, corporate businesses, and is just minutes from Charlotte, NC, Fort Mill, SC, Lancaster, SC!

Amenities of this community include a horse stable, as well as an equestrian riding ring and riding trails throughout the community.  Trails are accessible from each lot --  a lovely site to look out from your porch and see horse and riders gently sauntering by. There are seven stalls for lease at the stable, or horses can be paddocked on your property, in keeping with the Equestrian provisions of Lancaster County.  Other amenities include a swimming pool, club house, a tennis court and two fishing lakes.

The community has an active neighborhood POA with five officers elected from among the land owners.  There are monthly meetings, regular newsletters, social gatherings, a real sense of community.  The Board handles the business affairs of the POA, and oversees compliance of the Covenants & Restrictions. An Architectural Control Committee assures continuity of rules in the community for new construction, fencing and other rules governed by the Covenants. The modest fees of the Black Horse Run POA are used for maintenance and operations of the common areas.
